As most people know, October is breast cancer awareness month. NFL players have been wearing pink with their uniforms all month to show their support for the fight to eradicate this disease.
Now Ben Roethlisberger of the Pittsburgh Steelers is dutifully fulfilling this obligation. Only problem is he was suspended for the first four games of the season on an allegation of sexual assault against a young woman over the summer; and this is not the first time he has been accused of this less than savory conduct.
The NFL should be applauded for highlighting this important issue but should they be using Mr. Roethlisberger as a messenger considering his past history.
A bit of common sense can go a long way and if the messenger does not fit the message, maybe it is best not to use.
