toy from the 1970′s and the accompanying jingle “weebles wobble but they don’t fall down? “ Any one who has owned the toy or seen the commercial knows that no matter what you did to the toy, it always ended standing up. Throw it, punch it, kick it, etc., the toy always remained upright.
The same can be said of Newt. A lot has been thrown at him but he is still on his feet fighting the fight. A lesser man would have fallen to the wayside by now. Your campaign staff quits en mass on you, you plough on and move to the top of the polls. A mountain of negative ads is dropped on your head, designed to end you and your campaign – you dust yourself off and continue on. You regain your momentum and an ex-wife accuses you of wanting to have an “open” marriage; you take it and turn the accusation into your advantage. Politically speaking, the man is indestructible.
The intestinal fortitude and tenacity he has shown is incredible. For those of you who think he cannot challenge President Obama or is not up to the task of fundamentally changing Washington be forewarned, the Newtster is coming and he will not fall down.
Better than “slinky” Mitt. And better than a fundamental flaw . . . I mean Paul.
